Last weekend I watch the movie, "The Ghost Writer." It stars Ewan McGregor as a man ghost writing the Prime Minister of England's (played by Pierce Brosnan) memoirs. It gets tumultuous because the ghost writer shows up just as the Prime Minister is getting accused of war crimes (kidnapping and water-boarding suspected terrorists). The previous ghost writer died of drowning several weeks before and McGregor's character knows the Prime Minister is hiding something about his past. Kim Catrall appears in the movie as well in one of the first serious roles I've seen her in. I think she's got a decent movie career going for her outside of the "Sex & the City" franchise. The movie is very dark and suspenseful, due to the directing of Roman Polanski. I really enjoyed the movie and haven't seen such a good political mystery-thriller in a while. McGregor is great as always. I wish this movie had gotten more attention, as some critics called it one of the best movies of 2010. It only garnered $11MM at the box office and has 83% on rottentomatoes.com.
