Another comic book movie

Last night the boyfriend and I went to the movie theater to see "Captain America." In general, it was what I expected. There weren't any breakout performances. It was funny to see Chris Pine as a little guy at the beginning. Tommy Lee Jones added a bit of comic relief, playing his usually dry wit, take charge role. The main bad guy was played by the guy who's the bad guy in "The Matrix." There were a lot of cheesy moments. I think action movies need to stop with the slo-mo effect, it's cheesy and it stopped being cool in the 90s. The whole WWII lost mystical artifacts thing seemed to be a little wanna-be Indiana Jones-esque. The best part was at the end, when Samuel L. Jackson pops up to collect Captain America to join the Avengers. If you saw "Thor" earlier this year, you know that Jackson is starting to collect Marvel comic characters for "The Avengers," which will hit theaters in 2012. If you stay through the credits of "Captain America," there's a trailer for it at the end. You can see Thor, Loki, Captain America and Tony Stark from "Iron Man." I didn't make the connection, but I guess they also took Mark Ruffalo from "The Incredible Hulk" in 2008. Jeremy Renner and Scarlett Johansson will round out the cast. The inner-nerd in me is super stoked for this movie!
